Google's Third-Party Data Center (3PDC) team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead data center operations in facilities built by third-parties. This role combines technical expertise with program management to ensure reliable operation of critical systems within third-party data centers. The position offers an opportunity to work with Google's Technical Infrastructure team, which is fundamental to keeping Google's product portfolio running smoothly.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for leading complex projects involving Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, managing incident response, and driving operational excellence. You'll work with various stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, and manage project schedules while maintaining clear communication with cross-functional partners.

The role requires a strong technical background combined with project management expertise. You'll be working with facilities built to Google's specifications and operated either fully by Google or jointly with Colocation providers. Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Operations, Third-Party Data Centers

  • Lead technical projects involving Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
  • Develop project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
  • Respond to and resolve incidents related to critical infrastructure
  • Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends and drive process improvements
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations to monitor system health

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Operations, Third-Party Data Centers

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program or technical project management
  • Must obtain TS NV1 clearance under the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
  • Experience with BMS controls and SCADA systems preferred
  • Experience with industrial controls in critical environments preferred
  • Experience with executive-level communication preferred
