Description For Technical Program Manager, Enterprise Connectivity Planning

Google's Enterprise Connectivity Planning Team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects focused on network infrastructure and connectivity. This role combines technical expertise with program management to develop and implement strategic network solutions that ensure efficient, resilient, and secure enterprise connectivity.

The position requires a strong background in network engineering and program management, with responsibilities ranging from creating multi-year network strategies to executing critical infrastructure agreements. You'll be working with cutting-edge network technologies including cloud networking, DWDM, fiber interconnects, and IP network planning.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll collaborate with diverse stakeholders to balance technical requirements with operational and commercial needs. You'll be responsible for developing comprehensive business cases, conducting feasibility studies, and managing complex network infrastructure projects that directly impact Google's global connectivity capabilities.

The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of program management experience, combined with deep knowledge of network infrastructure and financial planning. You'll need to be equally comfortable discussing technical details with engineers and presenting strategic recommendations to executives.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Enterprise Connectivity Planning

  • Create multi-year metro or region level network strategies to provide resilient connectivity
  • Evaluate alternatives and develop cost estimates for project-specific feasibility studies
  • Create and present business cases for long-term investments in network and infrastructure
  • Execute agreements for metro-ethernet, internet, dark fiber, and wavelength services
  • Keep abreast of global industry best practices for end-to-end management of multi-functional technical projects and programs

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Enterprise Connectivity Planning

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience in delivering network infrastructure elements in office construction, data center build, or ISP/Telco programs
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) through dashboards or other reporting tools
  • Experience with network planning and engineering, including long haul and metro networks
  • Experience in cloud networking, DWDM, fiber, interconnect, peering, IP network planning
  • Experience working in a network vendor or telecommunications carrier environment
  • Familiarity with agreement structures for circuit types (IRU, PTP, etc.)
