Description For Technical Program Manager, Geo Data Tools

Google's Geo team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects focused on building the most accurate and comprehensive mapping solutions. This role involves working with Google Maps, Earth, Street View, and Google Maps Platform, serving over a billion monthly users. The ideal candidate will bridge technical expertise with project management skills, working closely with engineers and stakeholders to drive initiatives from conception to completion.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for managing technology programs, defining success criteria, and ensuring on-time delivery of projects. You'll work directly with engineering teams to improve Geo Data tools and systems, create comprehensive requirement documents, and manage technical issue resolution. The role requires strong communication skills to work effectively with a global team and influence cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Geo Data Tools

  • Manage technology programs by defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation, and on-time delivery
  • Communicate with Engineers on prioritization and implementation of tools and systems to improve Geo Data
  • Create Operational and Product requirement documents that solve Geo's scaling challenges via Tools
  • Manage resolution of project-related technical issues, self service configuration and engage with Engineering
  • Work with a global program management team to develop and deliver projects from conception to implementation

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Geo Data Tools

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in managing projects
  • Experience managing and improving software engineering processes and development teams
  • Experience with life-cycle management in a paced software environment
  • Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally
  • Ability to solve software engineering challenges
  • English proficiency
