Description For Technical Program Manager, Global Network Infrastructure Engineering and Delivery

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join their Global Network Infrastructure Engineering and Delivery team. This role combines technical expertise with project management to lead complex infrastructure programs for Google's data center campuses. The position involves designing and managing physical infrastructure, creating detailed specifications, and ensuring successful project delivery.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for initiating, designing, and managing physical infrastructure programs for Google's large data center campuses. You'll create designs, Scopes of Work (SOWs), and expenditure approval documents for ISP and OSP fiber cabling, conveyances, and electrical/cooling/space of data center networking rooms. The role requires a strong background in infrastructure design and project management, with the ability to balance current requirements with future technological needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in building construction management, data center telecom infrastructure, and a proven track record in managing complex projects. Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Global Network Infrastructure Engineering and Delivery

  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure all designs and implementations balance the current requirements and potential future generations of networking technology
  • Evaluate alternatives and develop cost estimates for project-specific feasibility studies
  • Create standards and templates to streamline build processes, and create design drawings and SOW documents for network infrastructure and optical cabling
  • Communicate with partners to collect drivers and deadlines for delivering network capacity
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time, mostly to Google's Data Centers around the globe

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Global Network Infrastructure Engineering and Delivery

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in program or technical project management
  • 2 years of experience designing, constructing or managing infrastructure projects
  • Experience creating infrastructure designs (telecom, electrical, mechanical) drawing sets for builds and remodels of data center networking spaces
