Description For Technical Program Manager, Global Network Planning

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join their Global Network Planning team. This role combines technical expertise with program management to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects focused on network infrastructure and topology. The position requires someone who can bridge the gap between technical implementation and project management, working with various stakeholders across the organization.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for managing quarterly topology publications, overseeing infrastructure changes, and driving efficiency improvements through automation. You'll work with Google's sophisticated networking architecture, handling everything from capacity planning to infrastructure modifications in both co-location and large-scale data center environments.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Global Network Planning

  • Lead projects in support of quarterly topology publications
  • Participate in topology change control program
  • Contribute technical expertise in network planning functions
  • Liaise with partner teams to identify obstacles and ambiguity in processes and automation
  • Establish and/or contribute to key business metrics development, measurement and tracking

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Global Network Planning

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program management
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • Extensive experience with Google networking architecture and physical network components
  • Networking NPI Deployments (Alphabet) and/or ML NPI deployment experience
  • Working knowledge of automation and orchestration tools
  • Proven track record of successfully planning and executing complex infrastructure migrations
