Description For Technical Program Manager, Google Networking Technologies

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for their Google Networking Technologies (GNT) team. This role is part of the Technical Infrastructure team, responsible for scaling Google's Production Network. The ideal candidate will manage cross-functional projects spanning all levels and groups within the organization.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You should be equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent practical experience) and at least 2 years of experience in program management. Preferred qualifications include experience in project/program management and Software Engineering, the ability to lead global programs involving cross-functional teams, and excellent organizational, project management, analysis, and communication skills.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Google Networking Technologies

  • Deliver cross-functional projects/programs and ensure they provide value to customers
  • Work with core teams to develop and articulate strategy and tactical plans, develop road-maps, engage teams and engineers, set the pace for development, deployment, and delivery of software systems and infrastructure
  • Initiate new programs and be the catalyst for gaining support and driving them through completion, align team members and stakeholders, and communicate widely and transparently
  • Drive project delivery, technology reviews, guide technical proposals, and build consensus amongst cross-functional teams
  • Set project/program success criteria, create measurable milestones, track deliverables, and deliver customer value

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Google Networking Technologies

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
