Description For Technical Program Manager, Google Play

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for the Google Play team to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. This role combines technical expertise with project management skills to drive initiatives from conception to completion. You'll work within the Platforms and Ecosystems product area, which focuses on Google's computing software platforms across various environments.

As a TPM, you'll collaborate closely with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and maintain clear communication with cross-functional partners. The role requires someone who can effectively communicate with executives about strategic decisions while also engaging in technical discussions with engineering teams.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Google Play

  • Collaborate with Senior Program Managers, Engineering, and UX leads on the development of multi-year goals and strategies
  • Manage schedules, scope projects, foster collaborative team dynamics, anticipate and mitigate risks, and manage cross-functional team dependencies
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Google Play

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience managing projects
  • Experience in technical program management, software development life cycle, and business communication
  • Experience in ensuring proper prioritization and cross-team alignment
  • Experience communicating status to stakeholders
  • Experience in identifying and solving cross-functional and team issues
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • English proficiency is required
