Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager I to join their Core team, focusing on Infrastructure Capacity Planning. This role is crucial in developing and implementing strategies for efficient data center infrastructure usage. The Core team is responsible for building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, serving as owners and advocates for underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. This team has a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company and build central solutions that break down technical barriers.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be involved in maximizing efficiency and driving cost savings in data center infrastructure, leading initiatives to streamline processes, and implementing programs for faster service deployments. The role requires partnership with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment on infrastructure solutions.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the planning and use of data center infrastructure, maximizing efficiency and driving cost savings
  • Lead initiatives to streamline processes, automate workflows, and enhance the agility of infrastructure deployments
  • Design and implement programs that enable faster and more efficient service deployments, contributing to Google's continued growth and innovation
  • Partner closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to understand their needs and ensure alignment on infrastructure solutions
  • Analyze complex challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop innovative solutions that have a significant impact on infrastructure performance and cost

Requirements For Technical Program Manager I, Infrastructure Capacity Planning, Core

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience in program management
  • Experience with infrastructure and operations, or capacity planning
  • Experience with Resource Management (preferred)
  • Experience with Data center Operations (preferred)
  • Experience with data modeling, trend analysis, statistics and forecasting (preferred)
  • Experience in capacity planning, inventory optimization, or large-scale infrastructure projects (preferred)
  • Ability to be an influential member of an integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members (preferred)
