Google Fi is seeking a Technical Program Manager II to lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects in the mobile networks space. This role combines technical expertise with project management, focusing on Android OS, iOS App development, modem firmware, devices, eSIM, and more. The position requires managing cross-functional projects, driving technical innovation, and ensuring quality across Google Fi's network infrastructure.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for leading projects through their entire lifecycle, from planning requirements to successful implementation. You'll work closely with engineering teams to define technical requirements, manage schedules, and identify risks. The role demands strong communication skills, as you'll be interfacing with both executive stakeholders and engineering teams.

Google Fi works to revolutionize mobile connectivity, and this role is central to that mission. You'll be managing first-party and third-party handset qualifications, driving network quality initiatives, and managing international projects. The position offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $132,000-$189,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate will bring a bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience), along with significant experience in program management and telecommunications. You'll be joining Google's Mobile team, which powers billions of devices worldwide and continues to innovate in making Google's services accessible on the go.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager II, Mobile Networks, GoogleFi

  • Use telecommunications or networking knowledge to drive innovation, drive network quality, and manage international initiatives
  • Work with partner teams to define technical requirements, scope, milestones/schedule, and resourcing in order to drive launches
  • Drive development life-cycle processes for first-party and third-party handset qualifications on Google Fi
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Build consensus, drive issues to closure, help identify risks and mitigations, and communicate project status to senior leadership

Requirements For Technical Program Manager II, Mobile Networks, GoogleFi

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in program management
  • Experience managing telecommunication or networking projects in a technical environment
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects (preferred)
  • Experience with SQL scripting or similar data management scripting experience (preferred)
  • Experience with Android, iOS App, or platform development (preferred)
  • Experience with modem or RF technologies (preferred)
