Description For Technical Program Manager, Multi-platform Development, Mobile and Web

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects in their Core team. This role is crucial in building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, focusing on underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong program management skills to drive software engineering projects from conception to completion.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll work with diverse stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and facilitate clear communication across teams. The role requires someone who can seamlessly switch between explaining complex analyses to executives and discussing technical tradeoffs with engineers. You'll be responsible for leading software engineering projects in core programming languages and influencing teams in design, development, testing, deployment, and improvement of software systems.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program management
  • Experience with software development and managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering teams
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
  • Experience with life-cycle management in a software environment
  • Ability to solve software engineering challenges involving bug triage, source control, continuous integration
  • Ability to be influential in an integrated team of technical and non-technical members
