Description For Technical Program Manager, Pixel Watch and Fitbit Device

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for the Pixel Watch and Fitbit Device team, focusing on bringing together Google's hardware, AI, and first-party software experiences. This role involves working with major software subsystems including core bring-up, system health, performance, thermal, power, graphics, display, and sensors. The ideal candidate will manage complex software projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive technical initiatives from conception to completion.

The position requires strong technical expertise combined with program management skills to lead multi-disciplinary projects. You'll work closely with Product teams to define requirements, collaborate with Hardware teams on new component integration, and ensure high-quality product delivery. The role demands someone who can navigate between technical discussions with engineers and executive-level communications.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for tracking progress, resolving dependencies, evaluating risks, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Pixel Watch and Fitbit Device

  • Manage complex and large-scale software projects, work with multiple teams on cross-functional initiatives
  • Interface with engineering managers and engineers across both hardware and software to estimate work efforts, define milestones, and manage resources
  • Remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress
  • Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations, provide support to teams balancing competing priorities
  • Understand technical implementation at the system/architecture level and propose technical alternatives
  • Work closely with leads and partners to ensure software and roadmap feature alignment
  • Identify process gaps/issues in development and create solutions to scale execution efficiency

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Pixel Watch and Fitbit Device

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with program management or technical management, leading cross-functional test engineering programs
  • Experience in mobile devices, hardware, software, or embedded software
  • Experience with consumer electronics
  • Knowledge of product life cycle
  • Ability to efficiently work through ambiguity to detailed solutions
  • Ability to work effectively with highly technical engineering teams
  • Excellent communication skills
