Description For Technical Program Manager, Silicon Engineering

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Silicon Engineering to lead complex, multidisciplinary SoC projects from conception to production. This role requires a seasoned professional with 10+ years of experience in product engineering and technical program management, specifically in mobile and compute chip development.

The position involves leading silicon development projects through their entire lifecycle, from early concepts to tape out and production. You'll work closely with various teams including architecture, design, verification, physical implementation, and manufacturing teams. The role demands strong technical expertise combined with project management skills to handle complex chip designs, methodology decisions, and partner team management.

As part of Google Cloud, you'll contribute to technology that serves customers in over 200 countries. The role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge silicon products that power Google's cloud infrastructure and enterprise solutions. You'll be responsible for creating and managing project timelines, identifying and mitigating risks, and driving critical technical and budgetary decisions.

The ideal candidate should have experience with chip cycles in a technical project management role, understanding of data center and cloud markets, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Silicon Engineering

  • Justify, plan, coordinate, and deliver custom silicon products
  • Lead the creation of credible and data-driven schedules and milestones
  • Drive technical, budgetary, and schedule tradeoff discussions with cross-functional teams
  • Manage project execution and issues through design, development, test, manufacturing, deployment, and sustaining activities

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Silicon Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience in product engineering, leading mobile and compute chip development
  • 10 years of experience in technical program management in software or hardware development/integration
  • Experience with 2 chip cycles in a technical project management role
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering preferred
  • Experience with data center and cloud markets
  • Experience as an engineer or manager in developing hardware or software systems
  • Ability to motivate and focus a collaboration to reach challenging goals
