Description For Technical Program Manager, Site Reliability

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for their Site Reliability Engineering team, specifically within the ATS (AI, Trust and Security) PMO team. This role focuses on strategic planning, execution, and reporting of high-priority initiatives for ATS SRE and partners. The position involves managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, and manage project schedules.

The ATS team is responsible for running, protecting, and ensuring the resiliency of Google's largest platforms and supports important Cloud Security and Cloud AI platforms and products. They work closely with production teams to promote best practices for security, reliability, and resilience.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll need to balance technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills, being equally comfortable explaining analyses to executives and discussing technical tradeoffs with engineers. The role requires significant experience in both program management and site reliability, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and strategic impact.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Site Reliability

  • Drive cross-functional programs in large work groups that span multiple teams and proactively manage stakeholders through communication and alignment
  • Collaborate with leadership in key program decision making - including scope definition, requirements gathering, staffing, planning, execution and governance of programs
  • Work with leadership and cross-functional partners to define and apply execution metrics to monitor the health of programs
  • Demonstrate strategic impact by developing cross-functional tools and processes to transform the operation and effectiveness of the organization
  • Streamline processes and drive improvements to deliver scale and efficiency
  • Collaborate and build alliances with TPgM functions across ATS SRE and the global SRE organization, sharing knowledge and experience to scale efforts

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Site Reliability

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in program management
  • 8 years of experience in site reliability
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
