Description For Technical Program Manager, Spaces Program Management Office

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for the Spaces Program Management Office. This role is part of the Core team, which builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to build first-party platforms for developer infrastructure, specifically foundational technologies for enterprise developers, including data-bridge, Symphony, and ML.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing technology programs, defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation, and ensuring on-time delivery
  • Working on distributed systems, storage solutions, applications, and new platforms
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Developing tools and processes to improve software engineering productivity
  • Communicating schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, with 5 years of experience in program management. The ideal candidate should have experience building, automating, and developing distributed systems from the ground up, as well as leadership experience in leading other program managers through program strategies, project execution, and risk management.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
  • Experience managing software engineering programs
  • Ability to run and deliver results on technical projects and develop strategies aligned with business requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills
