Description For Technical Solutions Engineer, Security

Google Cloud is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer, Security to join their team. This role involves leading cross-functional teams in Engineering, Sales, and Product Management to leverage emerging technologies for external clients and partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security, with experience in reading code, working with RDBMS systems and SQL, and triaging SaaS products and REST APIs.

As a Technical Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving customer problems, designing and implementing new tools, and acting as a consultant for key stakeholders. You'll need to balance business and partner needs with technical constraints, develop innovative solutions, and oversee the technical execution of Google's online advertising platforms and product partnerships.

The role is part of the SecOps SOAR team, which was introduced into Google Cloud through the acquisition of Siemplify. This team is dedicated to helping companies find and stop cyber attacks before they cause harm, working alongside other Google Cloud Security products.

Key responsibilities include obtaining an in-depth understanding of Google's product technology, building in-product self-service solutions, working closely with product and engineering teams, and advocating for customers by representing their issues to Product Management and Software Engineering.

Responsibilities For Technical Solutions Engineer, Security

  • Diagnose and resolve customer problems

Requirements For Technical Solutions Engineer, Security

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience reading code (e.g., Python or C#)
  • 2 years of experience with RDBMS systems and SQL
  • 2 years of experience triaging SaaS products, related technologies (e.g., Pantheon, Kibana, Datadog, Grafana), and REST API's (e.g., Chrome devtools, Postman, cUrl, Swagger)
  • Ability to work non-standard working hours
