They will collaborate closely with Android DevRel engineers, Project Managers, and UX researchers to identify documentation needs and implement content solutions.

Key responsibilities include building and managing local vendor relationships, leading documentation projects, and developing content strategies. The role involves quality audits, sample code reviews, and content maintenance, while also focusing on modernizing content creation through innovative tools and workflows, including generative AI.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 6 years of technical writing experience and 2 years of working alongside software developers. Understanding of Android from both user and developer perspectives is valued, as is experience in project management and working across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities For Technical Writer, Android

  • Build a portfolio of local vendors with Android and lead efforts on quality audits, sample code reviews, and content maintenance
  • Lead documentation projects by scoping work, securing stakeholder buy-in, delegating tasks, guiding execution, and communicating progress
  • Collaborate with Android DevRel engineers, Project Manager, engineers, and UX researchers to identify documentation needs and propose content plans
  • Develop content strategy and editorial guidelines, delivering content that aligns with our information architecture (IA) and quality standards
  • Transform authoring and quality through new tools and workflows, such as using generative AI

Requirements For Technical Writer, Android
