Description For Technical Writer, Cloud Networking

Google is seeking a Technical Writer specializing in Cloud Networking to join their Technical Infrastructure team. This role combines technical expertise with exceptional writing abilities to create and maintain educational content for developers. The position is integral to Google's engineering and user experience teams, focusing on documenting complex cloud networking technologies and infrastructure systems.

As a Technical Writer at Google, you'll be responsible for creating clear, comprehensive documentation for developer-facing content, particularly in areas of cloud networking, APIs, and network architecture. You'll work closely with the Technical Infrastructure team that builds and maintains Google's data centers and platforms, ensuring that complex technical concepts are explained in an accessible and useful manner.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in technical writing with specific expertise in cloud and networking technologies. This includes knowledge of DNS, BGP, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and various cloud-based services. Experience with public cloud technologies, ML/AI, and data systems would be particularly valuable.

  • Experience with technical documentation, developer facing, Cloud Application programming interfaces (APIs), networking protocols, or network architecture
  • 10 years of experience as a technical writer (preferred)
  • Experience with computer networking technologies (DNS, routers, BGP, firewalls, VPNs, cloud-based services, load balancers and proxies)
  • Experience with public Cloud technologies such as Cloud Networking technologies, Compute technologies, ML/AI technologies, or data systems
