Description For Technical Writer, Cloud Networking

Google is seeking a Technical Writer specializing in Cloud Networking to join their Technical Infrastructure team. This role combines technical expertise with exceptional writing abilities to create comprehensive documentation for developers. The position is integral to Google's engineering and user experience teams, focusing on explaining complex cloud networking concepts in an accessible way.

The Technical Infrastructure team is the backbone of Google's operations, responsible for developing and maintaining data centers and building next-generation Google platforms. As a Technical Writer in this team, you'll be documenting crucial cloud networking technologies, APIs, and architectures that power Google's vast service infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical documentation and cloud technologies, with particular emphasis on networking protocols, architecture, and cloud-based services. You'll work closely with engineering teams to research and create developer-facing documentation that helps other engineers understand and implement Google's cloud networking solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with technical documentation, developer facing, Cloud Application programming interfaces (APIs), networking protocols, or network architecture
  • 10 years of experience as a technical writer (preferred)
  • Experience with computer networking technologies (DNS, routers, BGP, firewalls, VPNs, cloud-based services, load balancers and proxies) (preferred)
  • Experience with public Cloud technologies (Cloud Networking, Compute technologies, ML/AI technologies, or data systems) (preferred)
