Google Cloud is seeking a Technical Writer specializing in Cloud Security to join their team. This role combines technical expertise with exceptional writing abilities to create comprehensive documentation for Google Cloud's security features. As a Technical Writer, you'll be responsible for crafting various types of technical content, from API documentation to white papers, ensuring complex security concepts are explained clearly for technical audiences.

The position requires a strong foundation in technical writing with 4 years of experience, particularly in creating content for developer documentation or IT administration. Your expertise in security engineering, especially in encryption, will be valuable in understanding and documenting Google Cloud's security features. Knowledge of programming languages like Java and Python, along with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), will help you effectively communicate with engineering teams and create accurate technical documentation.

Responsibilities For Technical Writer, Cloud Security

  • Write technical documentation, including overview, how-to guide, user guide, Application Programming Interface (API) reference
  • Create additional content such as articles, images, white papers, solutions documents, and product and project-related communications as needed
  • Organize existing documentation, identify documentation gaps, and lead new projects
  • Define documentation requirements with diverse teams, and work with engineers to create and update documentation sets
  • Edit, clarify, and enhance documents written by engineers and others

Requirements For Technical Writer, Cloud Security

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience creating content for technical audiences
  • Experience in privacy and security engineering, especially encryption
  • Experience in writing for the web
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Ability to understand source code (e.g., Java and Python)
  • Ability to work in a paced and constantly changing environment
