The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in technical writing, with strong knowledge of developer documentation, API documentation, and cloud technologies.
As a Technical Writer at Google Cloud, you'll be responsible for creating various forms of technical content, from API documentation to white papers. You'll work closely with engineering teams to understand complex systems and translate technical concepts into clear, accessible documentation. The role requires someone who can adapt to rapidly changing technologies and maintain documentation accuracy while working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities For Technical Writer, Engineering Productivity
- Write technical documentation, including overviews, how-to guides, user guides, API documentation, and API reference
- Create additional content such as articles, images, white papers, solutions documents, product and project-related communications
- Organize existing documentation, identify documentation gaps, and support new projects
- Define documentation requirements with diverse teams, and work with engineers to create and update documentation sets
- Edit, clarify, and enhance documents written by engineers and others
- Help others improve their writing skills through one-on-one consultations within regular office hours
Requirements For Technical Writer, Engineering Productivity
- 6 years of experience as a technical writer
- Experience with Developer Documentation, API Documentation, Cloud Technologies, Linux Kernel, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
- Ability to learn and document new and emerging technologies
- Ability to cope with fluid and constantly changing environments
- Ability to research and write effective documentation for developers and DevOps
- Ability to understand and document source code
