Description For Test Automation Engineer

Google is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join their Pixel team in Warsaw, Poland. This isn't your typical QA role - you'll be developing sophisticated automation scripts and tools to ensure the quality of Google's Pixel devices. The position combines technical leadership with hands-on development, focusing on the GPU Software group.

As a Test Engineer at Google, you'll be responsible for navigating Google's massive codebase and creating automated testing solutions. You'll work on the Google Pixel team, which is dedicated to delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience through cutting-edge designs, techniques, and experiences in consumer electronics. The team integrates Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative user experiences.

The role requires strong coding skills, particularly in Python, Shell, or Go, along with extensive experience in test automation and methodology development. You'll be leading the establishment of a new Test and Validation team, working closely with executive engineers and stakeholders to improve test coverage for Pixel devices. Responsibilities For Test Automation Engineer

  • Lead the utilization or development of automation tools or scripts to improve product and engineering health
  • Define the test framework, test preconditions, and other test control and reporting functions to enable others to test functionality
  • Ramp up a Test and Validation team within the Pixel GPU Software group in Warsaw from scratch
  • Work with executive engineers and stakeholders to identify and plan steps improving general and problem specific test coverage for Pixel devices
  • Define long-term test and validation plans for Pixel GPU Software

Requirements For Test Automation Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in coding, developing test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging
  • Experience in coding/automation using Python, Shell, or Go
  • Experience building testing automation solutions
  • Experience with people leadership and management
