Description For UX Research Manager, Pixel

Google's Pixel team is seeking a UX Research Manager to help shape the future of Pixel devices and services. This role combines leadership, research expertise, and strategic vision to drive user-centric innovation. As a UX Research Manager, you'll lead a team focused on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience, working at the intersection of Google's AI, software, and hardware.

The position requires a blend of research expertise and people management skills, where you'll guide team members' careers while advocating for users' needs. You'll employ various research methodologies to influence product development and overall strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams including Hardware, Software, and Operations groups.

The role offers an opportunity to impact Google's hardware ecosystem, particularly the Pixel line of devices, by bringing qualitative and quantitative insights to new and existing programs. You'll collaborate with executive leadership and work in a large, matrixed organization to create innovative experiences across Google's products.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in an applied research setting
  • 3 years of experience leading design projects and managing people or teams
  • 3 years of work experience working directly with executive leaders
  • Experience applying diverse research methodologies
  • Experience launching or working on hardware devices
