As a UX Research Manager for Pixel, you'll be responsible for guiding the careers of your team members, working closely with each of them to help them realize their full potential. You'll be a fierce advocate for the people who use our products as well as the members of your team. You'll use qualitative research methods such as field studies, interviews, and diary studies to shape product development and influence overall strategy.

In this role, you will work across multiple functions to represent qualitative and quantitative insights on new and existing hardware programs. The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience, bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving teams to define and evaluate product, service, and ecosystem impact
  • Influencing stakeholders across organizations to gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions
  • Coordinating allocation of resources within projects
  • Leading ideas to improve products and services through research-driven insights and recommendations
  • Representing user insights and pain points to cross-project teams
  • Leading strategy discussions through research analysis and synthesis

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX research, experience working with executive leadership, and expertise in applying diverse research methodologies. Experience with hardware devices is preferred.

Responsibilities For UX Research Manager, Pixel

  • Drive teams to define and evaluate product, service, and ecosystem impact, and influence stakeholders across organizations to gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions
  • Drive project priorities in alignment with larger project goals, and coordinate allocation of resources within the project. Identify opportunities to expand responsibilities within and across a product
  • Lead ideas to improve products and services through research-driven insights and recommendations, and drive teams to define and evaluate product, service, and ecosystem impact
  • Represent users insights and pain points to a wide cross project team including Hardware, Software, and Operations groups
  • Lead strategy discussions through research by analyzing, consolidating, or synthesizing what is known about user, product, service, or business needs

Requirements For UX Research Manager, Pixel

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar
  • 3 years of experience leading design projects and managing people or teams
  • 3 years of work experience working directly with executive leaders
