Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is seeking an experienced Virtual Machines Product Manager to lead the development and strategy of their Compute Engine (GCE) infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of cloud computing innovation and enterprise solutions, requiring a deep understanding of both technical infrastructure and business strategy.

You'll be responsible for driving the evolution of Virtual Machine capabilities, working with cutting-edge technologies and managing products that impact millions of users globally. The compensation package is highly competitive, with a base salary range of $168,000-$252,000, plus additional benefits including bonus and equity opportunities. The role can be based in either Sunnyvale, CA or Seattle, WA, providing flexibility in location choice while maintaining direct involvement with core engineering teams.

  • Drive new capabilities for VM instances including technology interception, roadmap planning, and business growth forecasting
  • Manage product strategy for VM family including business outcomes
  • Work across hardware, software, research, and product teams towards long-term product goals
  • Provide data-driven insights to prioritize engineering initiatives
  • Define and drive Go-To-Market strategies for product launches

Requirements For Virtual Machines Product Manager, Google Compute Engine

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role
  • Experience developing or launching infrastructure products or technologies
  • Experience in Compute Engine, Data Center Technology, Virtual Machines, Servers
  • Master's degree in technology or business related field (preferred)
  • Experience in compute architecture, data center infrastructure, CPU and I/O technologies (preferred)
  • Knowledge of workload requirements and their demands on infrastructure (preferred)
