Gorilla Logic, a leading nearshore Agile development company, is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join their team. With offices across the United States, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Mexico, they serve Fortune 500 and SMB clients with expertise in full-stack development.
The role demands a seasoned Android developer with 5+ years of mobile development experience, who will be instrumental in designing and building Android applications. You'll be working in a highly collaborative Agile environment, where your technical expertise will be crucial in delivering leading-edge platform solutions.
As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll be responsible for architectural leadership, mentoring fellow developers, and working closely with cross-functional teams including UI/UX design and backend development. The position requires strong proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin, deep understanding of Android SDK and Jetpack, and experience with modern architectural patterns like MVVM.
The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a track record of publishing Android applications. Additional experience with Jetpack Compose, Fastlane automation, or backend development would be advantageous. - Design and build apps for the Android platform
- Provide architectural leadership to the team and client
- Work with an agile team to build, maintain and optimize client applications
- Mentor fellow developers
- Work closely with UI/UX design, product ownership, back-end and other teams
Requirements For Senior Android Engineer - GP
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of mobile application development experience
- 4+ years of native Android app development experience with Java and/or Kotlin
- Experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning
- Strong understanding of common architectural patterns, including MVVM
- Good understanding of the Android SDK (including Jetpack)
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
- Experience publishing multiple Android apps and beta distribution
- Strong architectural design and implementation capabilities
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
- Proficient English and communications skills
