Description For Sr. Android Engineer (+React Native) - GP

Gorilla Logic, a leading nearshore Agile teams provider serving Fortune 500 and SMB companies, is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join their dynamic team. With offices across the United States, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Mexico, we're at the forefront of delivering sophisticated full-stack web, mobile, and enterprise applications.

As a Senior Android Developer, you'll be integral to our Agile team, focusing on building and maintaining client applications while collaborating with iOS and Web teams. The role demands not just technical excellence in Android development, but also the ability to think critically and work with self-motivation. You'll be working with cutting-edge technologies including Kotlin, React Native, and modern Android frameworks.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of native Android development experience, with deep expertise in Kotlin, Dagger, RxJava, Compose, and other modern Android technologies. You'll be responsible for designing and developing user-facing features, maintaining test and release pipelines, and driving architectural decisions. Responsibilities For Sr. Android Engineer (+React Native) - GP

  • Design and develop new user-facing features and maintain the existing feature set
  • Proactively maintain and improve the test, build, and release pipelines
  • Partner with other platform teams (iOS and Web) to drive feature parity and consistent user experience
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, design, data teams on cross-functional initiatives
  • Provide input on core architectural decisions and drive implementation
  • Follow developments in Android ecosystem and raise improvement opportunities
  • Promote documentation culture including tech specs and how-to's
  • Communicate best practices and platform updates
  • Peer review code and provide constructive feedback
  • Conduct technical interviews

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of native Android app development experience
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Dagger, RxJava, Compose, Espresso, Git
  • Experience with Android build tooling like Gradle, Proguard
  • Good understanding of the Android SDK
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling like Buildkite, Fastlane, Docker
  • Good communication, written, and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, including Kanban and SCRUM
  • Strong ownership, positive attitude, organized, and self-driven
  • Curious and willing to learn new technologies
