Description For Associate Software Engineer - Observability

GoTo Group, Southeast Asia's largest digital ecosystem, is seeking an Associate Software Engineer for their Observability team within the Engineering Platform division. This role focuses on building and maintaining a scalable platform-as-a-service (PaaS) on Kubernetes that powers diverse applications across Gojek's business lines. The position is perfect for developers passionate about creating tools for fellow engineers and comfortable with high-scale distributed systems.

The Engineering Platform team is the backbone of Gojek's technical infrastructure, managing over 500+ microservices. They focus on engineering productivity and leverage cutting-edge cloud computing technology to handle real-time, high-throughput systems. The team is responsible for designing abstractions and automations that enhance the experience of Gojek Product Engineers.

As an Associate Software Engineer, you'll work on building and managing scalable infrastructure, improving code quality, and collaborating across multiple geographies. The role requires experience with object-oriented or functional programming languages, understanding of distributed systems, and familiarity with container technologies and infrastructure automation tools.

  • 1 year of experience in object oriented or functional programming (Java, Golang, Clojure, Python, Ruby)
  • Basic understanding of distributed systems fundamentals and observability stack
  • Experience with Grafana stack, Cortex, SLI/SLO platforms (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes/Docker
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (chef, ansible, helm)
  • Understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful services, CI/CD
