Backend Engineer - Platform Productivity

Grafana Labs is seeking a Backend Engineer for their Platform Productivity squad, focusing on helping internal engineers release software onto their infrastructure securely and measurably. The role is within the Platform department, which provides application engineers with essential tools, systems, and Kubernetes clusters. The team is responsible for automating release processes, implementing 'golden path' techniques, and supporting the infrastructure behind popular observability tools like Grafana, Mimir, Loki, and Tempo.

The position involves working in a remote-first environment where communication and collaboration are paramount. You'll be part of a team that owns the full lifecycle of their code, from design documents to deployment and decommissioning. The primary programming language is Go, but flexibility in choosing the right tools for specific tasks is valued.

Key projects include developing next-generation CI/CD systems, creating productivity tooling/automation in their IEP portal (Backstage), implementing CI/CD observability, and developing security automation. The role includes participating in on-call rotations to ensure system health and working closely with diverse internal teams.
