Senior Backend Engineer

Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer proficient in GoLang to join their Grafana Backend Services squad. This team is responsible for delivering the best Grafana service to both On-Prem and Cloud customers, managing components like the Grafana Backend API, CLI tool, and cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing new functionality and iterating based on results
• Contributing to and reviewing design documents
• Embracing open-source culture and contributing to various projects
• Influencing the product roadmap and personal career growth
• Participating in on-call rotations and taking ownership of services
• Mentoring team members and collaborating on design discussions
• Sharing knowledge across technical ideologies
• Working closely with other Grafana Division squads

The ideal candidate should have:

• Solid experience with Go
• Good understanding of relational databases (MySQL, SQLite, Postgres)
• Strong focus on developer and user experience
• Experience in end-to-end project delivery
• Ability to write clean, robust, and performant code
• Mentoring experience in a collaborative, asynchronous environment
• Enjoyment in working on complex technical solutions
• Skill in breaking down complex challenges and iterating on solutions

Bonus qualifications include experience with open-source software, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, Grafana and Prometheus usage, on-call operations, and distributed systems.
