Software Engineer, Adaptive Telemetry

Grafana Labs is seeking a Software Engineer for their Adaptive Telemetry group within the Databases department. This remote position is open to candidates in the UK, Sweden, Germany, or Spain. The role involves working on Grafana Cloud, a composable observability platform that integrates metrics, logs, traces, and profiles with Grafana.

The Adaptive Telemetry group's mission is to ensure all telemetry stored in their databases is worthy of attention. They have developed Adaptive Metrics and Adaptive Logs and are expanding this vision to other telemetry signals. The role requires working with large-scale services where performance is key.

As an Adaptive Telemetry engineer, you will:

• Influence the roadmap and your career objectives
• Deliver new features and iterate on results
• Drive projects from ideation to operation
• Contribute to projects outside your team's scope
• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems
• Participate in on-call rotations
• Mentor team members and collaborate on design discussions
• Learn new skills and gain a deeper understanding of cloud products

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a bias towards action and customer focus. Key requirements include:

• Pragmatism in tackling complex challenges
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Solid experience with at least one programming language (Go preferred)
• Experience in delivering projects end-to-end
• Familiarity with Cloud software development or systems engineering
• Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems
• Ability to write clean, robust, and performant software

Nice-to-have skills include experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Grafana, Prometheus, and on-call/SRE tasks.
