Grafana Labs, the company behind the widely-used open source visualization tool Grafana, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their DataViz squad within the Grafana Frontend group. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on crucial visualizations like Histogram, Time series, Geomap, and Canvas, serving over 20M users globally including major enterprises like Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay.

As a Staff Engineer, you'll lead initiatives to enhance visualization capabilities while focusing on performance and maintainability. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, requiring expertise in frontend technologies like React, TypeScript, and data visualization libraries. You'll collaborate across teams, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the product roadmap while engaging with the open-source community.

Responsibilities For Staff Software Engineer - DataViz

  • Take an active role in influencing roadmap by engaging with stakeholders, customers and OSS community
  • Mentor and support team members, participate in product discussions
  • Write and review design documents for upcoming solutions
  • Participate in on-call rotations and support operations
  • Provide technical support in customer escalations
  • Work closely with other squads in the Grafana Department
  • Develop and enhance panel visualizations with focus on performance and maintainability

Requirements For Staff Software Engineer - DataViz
