GRAIL is a pioneering healthcare company on a mission to detect cancer early when it can be cured. Located in Menlo Park, California, with additional offices in Washington, D.C., North Carolina, and the United Kingdom, GRAIL combines next-generation sequencing (NGS), population-scale clinical studies, and advanced computer science to transform cancer care.

As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the infrastructure that powers our software engineering efforts. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Go, Gitlab, Bazel, AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes, while collaborating with diverse teams across Software Engineering, IT, Security, Clinical and Lab Operations, and Data Science.

The position offers a competitive base salary range of $163K-$216K, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, 401k matching, and flexible time-off. This role requires 8+ years of DevOps experience, strong Python coding skills, and a BS in Computer Science or equivalent. You'll lead infrastructure evaluation, tool development, and security implementation while advocating for user data protection. The hybrid work arrangement allows flexibility with presence in either our Menlo Park, CA or Durham, NC offices.

Responsibilities For Staff DevOps Engineer

  • Augment the DevOps team in evaluating current and proposed software designs and network infrastructure
  • Spearhead tool development in Bazel, Python, Go, Terraform
  • Lead technical stack including Go, Gitlab, Bazel, AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Develop technical solutions to minimize security risk
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop best practices
