Startup Accelerator offers Data & AI consultants a kickstart to becoming independent, freelance consultants. We've helped Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, MLOPs Engineers, Data Engineers, and Cloud Developers/Engineers find consultancy projects they love since 2014 at companies like Heineken, KLM, ING, Vattenfall, and Randstad Group. Every project is carefully selected based on technical challenge, team expertise, and mutual fit.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining architectures, such as databases and large-scale processing systems. You will clean, prepare, and optimize data for consumption by data scientists and other business stakeholders. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain data pipelines, data models, and other data infrastructure.
How it works: We connect you with your first project at a company of your choice and take you through every step of establishing your own freelance consultancy company — all before ending your current employment contract. Instead of a fixed salary, you earn 75% of the hourly rate — which is around €12,000 per month, depending on your ideal work-life balance. After one year, you are ready to fly on your own without Startup Accelerator.

- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain data pipelines, data models, and other data infrastructure
Requirements For Data Engineer
- Interested in what you have read above
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience, of which at least 1 year as a Data Engineer
- European Work Visa (if relevant, unfortunately not possible through Startup Accelerator)
