Staff Software Engineer

Guideline is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. As a Full Stack Engineer on an agile team, you'll work on building and improving products that bring the possibility of a safe retirement to more people. This is a remote position, joining a distributed team of employees across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scope projects and design systems architecture for usability and scaling products
• Bring modern software solutions to the financial industry
• Build elegant software from the ground up, including user interfaces, message queuing infrastructure, and systems architecture
• Work with passionate technologists to automate administrative tasks and solve user problems

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience building consumer-facing software products
• 2+ years leading technical direction for a team of engineers
• Expertise in at least one backend language (e.g., Ruby, Python)
• Fundamental proficiency in React
• Experience with modern databases, designing scalable APIs, and building user interfaces
• Familiarity with building and scaling distributed systems using Kubernetes, Docker, and GCP

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary range: $158,000 - $274,500 annually (varies by location)
