Description For Audio/Visual Engineer

Guidewire Software, a leading technology company in the insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Audio/Visual Engineer to join their team in Bangalore, India. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge AV technology and contribute to the company's communication infrastructure.

As an Audio/Visual Engineer at Guidewire, you'll be responsible for configuring, operating, and maintaining AV equipment and solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in designing, testing, and troubleshooting technology configurations in conference rooms and custom AV deployment spaces. You'll serve as a Subject Matter Expert for various communication tools, including Zoom Workplace App, Zoom Rooms, and Zoom Phone, as well as conference room architecture and digital signage infrastructure.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve providing meeting support, performing analysis and resolution of AV hardware and software problems, and leading testing practices to ensure smooth operations. You'll also play a key role in documenting processes and driving initiatives to improve end-user experiences based on feedback and monitoring data.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in an AV Engineer role, with strong knowledge of online meeting platforms, AV equipment, and basic networking concepts. You should be comfortable working with VIP/Executive Management and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. The ability to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations may be required.

Responsibilities For Audio/Visual Engineer

  • Configure, operate, and maintain Audio Visual (AV) equipment and solutions
  • Design, test, and troubleshoot technology and configurations in conference rooms and custom audio visual deployment spaces
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Zoom Workplace App, Zoom Rooms, Zoom Phone, conference room architecture/standards, video/audio/web conferencing, and digital signage infrastructure
  • Provide meeting support with Audio Visual, Audio, and Video Conferencing equipment and services
  • Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of AV hardware and software problems
  • Lead testing practices to ensure AV changes/upgrades don't negatively impact key business applications or user experience
  • Document deployment, troubleshooting, and operational processes
  • Drive initiatives to improve end-users experience based on feedback and monitoring data
  • Collaborate with various IT teams to ensure AV setup meets user requirements and aligns with overall IT technology portfolio

Requirements For Audio/Visual Engineer

Linux
  • 2+ years (or relative) experience in an AV Engineer role
  • Strong knowledge of online meeting platforms and connection types
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with professional AV equipment
  • Strong knowledge of signal flow, AV signal types, cabling, connectors, etc.
  • VIP/Executive Management support experience
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize support requests based on impact
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and on-call rotation if required
  • Physical ability to lift and install equipment
  • Team player attitude
