Description For Software Engineer III-Product Development

Guidewire, a leading platform provider for P&C insurers, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Product Development team in Bangalore. This role focuses on developing and maintaining their Multi-Tenant Cloud Platform that powers all Guidewire applications and services. The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies including Kubernetes, Terraform, and various AWS services.

The ideal candidate will be deeply involved in designing and developing GWCP/ATMOS infrastructure as code, handling platform observability, and creating platform services for developer experience and security. You'll be working in a collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on pair programming and test-driven development.

With over 540 insurance clients across 40 countries, Guidewire provides a stable yet innovative environment where you can make a significant impact on the insurance industry's digital transformation. The role requires expertise in Java/Golang/Python, container technologies, and cloud platforms, with a focus on building scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer III-Product Development

  • Develop Multi-Tenant Cloud Platform for Guidewire applications and services
  • Design and develop GWCP/ATMOS infrastructure as code using EKS, Terraform, Golang
  • Handle Platform Observability (logs, metrics and traces)
  • Design and develop Platform services for Developer Experience, Authentication, Authorization using Java, Spring Boot
  • Engineer quality, scalability, availability, and security into code
  • Employ Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Deploy containerized applications to AWS through CI/CD

Requirements For Software Engineer III-Product Development

  • Strong Programming skills in Java/Golang/Python
  • Experience with Container technologies like Docker
  • Team first attitude with curiosity and potential to learn new technologies
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry technical skills
  • 8+ years of work experience in SaaS/PaaS environment
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Kubernetes/Mesos/Cloud Foundry/OpenShift, AWS/GCP/Azure, Serverless)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible
  • Java, Spring Boot programming skills with Linux ecosystem
