Developer Enablement Lead, Embedded Payroll

Gusto is seeking a Developer Enablement Lead for their Embedded Payroll (GEP) platform. This role is crucial in building out Gusto's developer experience, with a primary focus on owning public documentation and creating clear, concise, and accurate content. The position involves developing and managing technical tools to simplify and accelerate the developer experience, such as managing GEP's Postman collection and implementing tooling to track/monitor developer questions and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate existing internal documentation, identify gaps, and execute remediation strategies
• Develop user-friendly documentation, including API documentation, technical specifications, and user guides
• Continuously improve documentation processes, tools, and practices
• Produce visual aids to complement written documentation
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather information and understand complex technical concepts
• Collaborate with marketing & product marketing to develop content strategy
• Participate in usability testing and provide feedback to enhance user experience
• Identify, implement, and maintain Developer Enablement tools and resources

Requirements:

• 6+ years of total technical experience with 2+ years in Technical Writing
• Experience with REST APIs
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clean, concise, and approachable content
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• User-first approach and ability to deliver iterative deliverables quickly
• Problem-solving skills and pattern-matching abilities
• Collaborative mindset and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Continuous learning attitude

The role offers a cash compensation range of $100,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on location and experience. Gusto has physical offices in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City, with a hybrid work model requiring 2-3 days per week in the office.
