HackerOne, the global leader in human-powered security, is seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer to join their growing team. This role is part of a brand-new Product Security team, where you'll be one of the first two members helping shape the future of security within the engineering organization.
As a Product Security Engineer, you'll be at the core of security efforts, leading initiatives that strengthen defenses and ensure product resilience against evolving threats. You'll work cross-functionally with Product Engineering, Security, Data, Compliance, and IT teams, advocating for security best practices and earning stakeholder buy-in with a service-driven approach.
The position offers a Flexible Work approach, primarily remote but based in London, UK, with occasional in-person interactions. You'll need 5+ years of experience in Product Security, with strong technical leadership abilities and expertise in InfoSec Best Practices. Key technical requirements include proficiency in Ruby/Rails, JavaScript/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities For Senior Product Security Engineer
- Own security-related features, ensure alignment with engineering goals, and document key decisions
- Lead security initiatives, influencing best practices across engineering teams
- Advocate for a pragmatic approach to security, balancing business needs with risk mitigation
- Mentor and support engineers on security best practices, threat modeling, and secure coding principles
Requirements For Senior Product Security Engineer
- 5+ years of experience in Product Security, securing applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments
- Technical leadership, with the ability to earn trust and drive security initiatives
- Proficiency in InfoSec Best Practices
- Hands-on experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL
