Description For Applications Engineer

Hadrian, a company that builds software-defined high precision component factories for top aerospace companies, is seeking an Applications Engineer to join their team in Los Angeles. This role is crucial for executing Hadrian's Machining roadmap to scale across multiple factories in the US.

As an Applications Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing novel solutions for CNC programming, workholding, fixturing, tooling, process control, new materials, and machining capabilities. You'll work closely with various teams including Applications Engineering, CAM Operations, Software Engineering, and Robotics to push the boundaries of machining at scale.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing new capabilities in programming, machining, workholding, and automation to meet challenging market demands.
  2. Creating 0-1 New Product Introduction parts for high-risk, high-ROI projects.
  3. Serving as a Subject Matter Expert, contributing to the product vision of Hadrian's Copilot software.
  4. Advising on tooling, machine selection, workholding, and process engineering.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 5+ years of experience programming aerospace parts
  • Proficiency in operating CNC machines
  • Extensive knowledge of various machine types, materials, and tooling applications
  • A track record of successfully machining complex parts
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering print reading
  • Excellent communication skills

Additional skills that would set you apart include experience with hyperMILL, Heidenhain, Fanuc, NX, machining Inconel or Titanium, macro programming, tap testing, FEA analysis, load monitoring, tool life monitoring, and in-process inspection.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
