We're seeking a Production Engineer to drive high-quality assembly at our factories in Asia. This role is crucial in supporting the mass production of our cutting-edge low-power hardware through hands-on support in the factory. The ideal candidate will drive manufacturing best practices and have experience using statistical process controls to sustain high-performing processes for building ultra-reliable hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rapidly respond to production issues using a first principles approach
- Improve test systems for better gauge repeatability and reproducibility
- Prioritize factory activities through systematic reviews of yield, statistical process control data, and test system performance
- Audit supplier production processes to identify and resolve risk areas
- Deliver feedback to suppliers and follow up with on-site visits
- Plan and implement line improvements to unblock capacity in rate-limiting processes
- Track cycle times and assist in manufacturing cost negotiations
- Optimize line efficiency by minimizing wasted actions
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior-level Production Engineer (electro-mechanical products preferred)
- Willingness to be based at the main production facility in Asia with 15-20% travel
- Experience in analyzing production data and utilizing statistical process control methods
- Proficiency in implementing production quality standards and manufacturing best practices (ISO, IPC standards, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, Lean Manufacturing)
- Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly reliable assembly processes and test systems for high-volume electro-mechanical products
- Familiarity with various production processes including electronics assembly, final assembly, production data & test frameworks, and production reliability testing
- Experience with mechanical parts manufacturing (injection moulding) is desirable
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a self-motivated, challenging startup atmosphere
