This role involves conducting slope stability analysis, ground control inspections, and developing geotechnical instrumentation programs for open pit operations. The ideal candidate will have 5-6 years of experience in hard rock mining, advanced knowledge in Geotechnical Engineering, and proficiency in geological and geotechnical modeling software. Responsibilities For Senior Geotechnical Engineer OP
- Conduct slope stability analysis and design recommendations for open pit operations
- Ground control inspection and design audits of operating Open pit mine
- Develop and oversee geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring programs
- Collaborate with mining engineers to optimize pit designs and operations
- Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and geotechnical studies
- Supervise junior engineers and geotechnical staff
- Construct and maintain Geotechnical block model
- Ensure compliance with cooperate H&S procedures
- Investigate and report geotechnical related incidents
- Management of Geotechnical projects
Requirements For Senior Geotechnical Engineer OP
- Bachelor's degree in mining, geotechnical or geological engineering or similar related field
- 5-6 years in hard rock mining operations
- Advanced knowledge in Geotechnical Engineering
- Strong software skills in geological and geotechnical modelling software, databases and MS Office
- Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D stability analysis and numerical modeling software
- Proficient in field investigation techniques and geotechnical testing methodologies
- Strong communication skills
- Strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to mentor and train engineers
- Project and time management skills
- Driving License
