Description For Flight Software Engineer II

Hermeus, an innovative aerospace and defense technology company, is revolutionizing air travel through the development of hypersonic aircraft. The company is currently working on significant projects including Quarterhorse and Darkhorse - an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed for military applications. They're seeking a Flight Software Engineer II to join their dynamic team.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge aircraft systems, developing embedded flight software for various critical components including flight control, navigation, communication, and avionics systems. The position requires a strong background in embedded systems programming, particularly with C/C++, and experience with real-time operating systems.

This is an ideal opportunity for a software engineer with 2+ years of experience who wants to work at the intersection of aerospace and software development. The role offers competitive compensation ($128,250 - $156,750) and an impressive benefits package including 100% employer-paid healthcare, unlimited PTO, and stock options.

The position is based in either Atlanta, GA or Los Angeles, CA, and requires working on-site. As a defense contractor, candidates must be U.S. persons due to export control compliance requirements. The role combines technical challenges with the excitement of working on revolutionary aerospace technology, making it perfect for engineers passionate about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in aviation.
