Hermeus, an innovative aerospace and defense technology company, is seeking a Fluids and Mechanisms Manufacturing Engineer to join their dynamic team in Atlanta. The role offers a unique opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects like Quarterhorse and Darkhorse - an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed for military applications. As part of the Manufacturing Team, you'll be instrumental in building vehicles that will revolutionize air travel, working alongside professionals with diverse expertise in welding, additive manufacturing, tube bending, machining, integration, and avionics.

This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, as you'll be responsible for driving improvement projects, managing relationships between engineering and technical teams, and implementing sophisticated manufacturing processes. You'll have the chance to work directly with hardware, influence design decisions, and lead process improvement initiatives that directly impact the development of next-generation hypersonic vehicles.

The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience, strong technical capabilities including CAD and Python knowledge, and a proven track record in manufacturing process improvement. Responsibilities For Fluids and Mechanisms Manufacturing Engineer

  • Lead improvement projects for safety, reliability, and process capability
  • Bridge relationship between engineering and technician team
  • Provide input into hardware design and development
  • Lead manufacturing and integration of current and next-generation vehicles
  • Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Apply process improvement methodologies and tools
  • Manage projects and execute to tight timelines
  • Train technicians, engineers, and leaders on best-in-class operations practices
  • Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability
  • Implement tooling and test solutions

Requirements For Fluids and Mechanisms Manufacturing Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in aviation or aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Experience with high volume manufacturing or design for manufacture
  • Experience with metallic manufacturing techniques and equipment
  • Experience with CAD and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of Python or other coding languages
  • Experience in control and monitoring of complex automated systems
