MES Application Engineer

Hermeus is an aerospace and defense technology company focused on developing hypersonic aircraft to radically accelerate air travel. They aim to achieve this through hardware-rich, iterative development combined with modern computing and autonomy. The company has validated its approach through the design, build, and test of their first combined turbojet-ramjet engine, and is now scaling up with the Quarterhorse flight vehicle program. Additionally, Hermeus is developing Darkhorse, an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft for military applications.

The MES Application Engineer role is crucial in supporting the configuration, enhancement, interface, and operation of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This position also involves maintaining the Manufacturing network and various software applications that support manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing daily MES operations
2. Providing technical support and training
3. Managing production support for MES functions
4. Integrating MES with other systems like ERP and PLM
5. Configuring system settings and executing integration testing
6. Creating and updating product workflows in MES
7. Communicating system requirements to stakeholders
8. Ensuring accurate data capture and generating reports
9. Analyzing and optimizing system performance
10. Maintaining documentation and creating training materials
11. Ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies
12. Participating in MES-related projects and upgrades

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, 1-3 years of experience in a hardware manufacturing environment, and strong project management skills. They should be proficient in Windows systems, have knowledge of programming languages like VBA, SQL, VB.NET, or Java EE, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
