Description For Sr. RF Engineer

Hermeus, an innovative aerospace and defense technology company, is revolutionizing air travel through the development of hypersonic aircraft. The company specializes in integrating hardware-rich, iterative development with modern computing and autonomy, validated through their combined turbojet-ramjet engine development and Quarterhorse flight vehicle program. They're also developing Darkhorse, an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft for military applications.

The Sr. RF Engineer role is a crucial position focused on RF systems engineering, requiring expertise in identifying hardware requirements, creating system architectures, and building/testing RF solutions for both aircraft and ground stations. The ideal candidate will possess strong fundamentals in RF engineering, broad design experience, and efficient troubleshooting skills.

This position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge hypersonic technology, with responsibilities spanning from RF hardware simulation to end-to-end system validation. Responsibilities For Sr. RF Engineer

  • Simulate/model RF hardware for communication systems and sensors/instruments
  • Develop test concepts and test procedures for RF and Environmental testing
  • Design and validate RF electronic circuits and systems
  • Define hardware architecture and specifications for RF system blocks
  • End-to-end design validation and testing of RF product performance
  • Work with manufacturing and production teams on producing and integrating RF/Antenna subsystems

Requirements For Sr. RF Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience designing and testing Antenna and/or RF hardware and systems
  • Experience with RF/Antenna Systems in L/S/C/Ku and Ka-Band frequencies
  • Understanding of electromagnetic propagation, impedance matching, Smith Chart, VSWR
  • Experience working with VNA, spectrum analyzers, RF power meters
  • Strong hands-on skills including prototyping/soldering
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62
