Responsibilities For Tooling Engineer

  • Design complex tooling and fixtures using CAD software to support manufacturing processes
  • Ensure tooling designs meet ergonomic, safety, and operational requirements
  • Work with internal and external machine shops to oversee fabrication
  • Evaluate and recommend fabrication methods and materials
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams
  • Conduct tooling trials and validations
  • Identify opportunities for improving existing tooling and processes
  • Provide innovative solutions to complex manufacturing challenges
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive tooling documentation
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards
  • Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and production teams

Requirements For Tooling Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in tooling design and manufacturing engineering
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX)
  • Knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes for aerospace systems
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (preferred)
  • Must be a U.S. person due to export control compliance
