Head of Developer Relations

Heroic Labs, an enterprise open-core software company specializing in game development infrastructure, is seeking a Head of Developer Relations to join their growing team. The company's flagship products include Nakama, Hiro, and Satori, forming the Heroic Game Stack that powers numerous successful games, including top 50 app store titles.

This hands-on leadership role involves creating outstanding documentation, building developer advocacy programs, and fostering a thriving community around the Heroic Games Stack. The ideal candidate will become deeply engaged with developers and vendors, serving as a trusted ambassador for the company. Working with a small multi-disciplinary DevRel engineering team, you'll report directly to the CEO and COO.

The position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere with reliable internet, though the company maintains an office in London. Team members are currently distributed across Vancouver, New York, Portugal, and Costa Rica. The role comes with competitive compensation, including stock options and unlimited vacation (minimum 2 weeks required).

Founded in 2014, Heroic Labs has established itself as a leading provider of cloud-agnostic game server solutions, working with clients ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 companies. Their technology handles over 90 billion requests per month, demonstrating the robust scalability of their infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of leadership experience in developer advocacy, strong technical writing abilities, and excellent relationship-building skills. While not required, game development experience and knowledge of technologies like JS, C#, Unity, Unreal, Go, Lua, and TypeScript would be advantageous.
