Analytics Engineer

Named #4 startup in Canada for 2024, Hiive is a fintech/marketplace startup connecting buyers and sellers of stock in venture-backed pre-IPO companies. As an Analytics Engineer at Hiive, you will help expand data capabilities to empower informed decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. You'll collaborate with data team leadership and business stakeholders to educate and enable teams to leverage data effectively. Your responsibilities will include working across the entire lifecycle of data, collaborating with cross-functional teams, enforcing data governance policies, completing code reviews, building BI solutions, maintaining data transformation layers, and promoting a data-driven culture.

Required Skills:

• 2+ years of experience as an analytics/data engineer or similar role
• Experience with SQL, cloud-based data warehouses, dbt, ETL tools, code-based BI tools, and Kimball data modelling
• Experience with Snowflake and dbt
• Experience with query optimization and tuning
• Experience executing data management policies
• Experience with marketing, financial, product, and operational data reporting

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to work in Python and support data orchestration with tools like Airflow or Dagster
• Experience with Postgres, Fivetran, Hightouch, and Metabase, or similar tools
• Experience in marketplaces and highly regulated industries
