Senior Engineer in Test/Test Lead

Named #4 startup in Canada for 2024, Hiive is a fintech/marketplace startup connecting buyers and sellers of stock in venture-backed pre-IPO companies. As a Senior Engineer in Test, you will be our last line of defense in shipping bug-free features to our platform. You will collaborate with engineers and product managers to ensure the delivery of new features that are bug-free and meet product objectives. You will maintain an end-to-end test suite in Playwright and verify code before it reaches production. You will work closely with colleagues to improve test coverage, diagnose bugs, and build an excellent engineering culture.

Responsibilities:

• Verifying features are bug-free and meet product objectives
• Identifying and problem-solving potential issues
• Ensuring product quality and delivering a consistent user experience
• Designing and executing effective testing strategies
• Working with cross-functional teams to deploy bug-free software
• Coordinating the QA discipline, implementing best practices, and mentoring other EITs

Required Skills:

• Experience building automated end-to-end test suites using Playwright
• Experience performing manual QA on responsive web platforms
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Ability to create and maintain test documentation
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Familiarity with ExUnit or other Elixir unit testing frameworks
