Description For Sr. Ruby Engineer, Infrastructure (Hybrid)

As a Homie at Homebase, you'll be part of an unstoppable team revolutionizing how small businesses manage their teams and grow. You'll make an impact by partnering with Product and Data engineering teams to ensure they have the tools and abstractions necessary to build and run great software. This includes maintaining and extending the Ruby service that manages our infrastructure, working closely with product engineering teams to optimize tooling and practices, and maintaining pipelines that support product engineering teams.

You'll be working in a hybrid environment, collaborating in the office weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The company is building local teams and is currently hiring in Monterrey, Mexico, with the office location to be in the San Pedro area.

Responsibilities For Sr. Ruby Engineer, Infrastructure (Hybrid)

  • Maintain and extend the Ruby service that manages our infrastructure
  • Work closely with product engineering teams to ensure tooling and practices are correctly optimized
  • Maintain tooling, pipelines, etc. that support product engineering teams

Requirements For Sr. Ruby Engineer, Infrastructure (Hybrid)

Ruby
PostgreSQL
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience with deep knowledge of Ruby
  • 5+ years of experience on an Infrastructure/Platform team
  • 3+ years of experience working with a cloud provider such as AWS
  • Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform
  • Proficiency with relational databases such as Postgres
  • Experience with best practices in handling integrations with 3rd party vendors (error handling, API Interface development)
  • Ability to compare technical approaches and share findings with stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Git, GitHub, and development using pull requests
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures
  • Ability to collaborate in the office weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
